71 chevy Aug 19th, 08, 9:28 AM everytime I take the car out and run it to about 6000rpms I'll start getting smoke from the driver side header, I look and the dipstick has come out again. someone said there is too much pressure. what can I do to relieve this. Ive got a small breather on the driver side and a pcv on the passenger side. Verle Aug 19th, 08, 9:50 AM What is the PCV hose hooked to? The cause is excess pressure in the crank case. All engines have some amount of blow by but worn parts will allow more of it. Did you check the PCV valve? thanks for the explanation. they are new rings but I had some gapped optimistically(for nitrous) the pcv rattles. You need breathers. you are right, but how come the passenger side is problematic when I have the breather on it and the pcv on the driver side oldtimr Aug 19th, 08, 10:19 PM If you are thinking the problem should be on the opposite side of the breather sorry no cigar......the dipstick isn't common to a side, it just goes into the pan.
