Hey, I'm having trouble getting my rear seat (and kick panels) out of my 70 Malibu.
It seems like the bottom portion of the seat wants to come out, but I can't find where it's attached. I can't get the top part of the seat to move at all, and I can't figure out where that one is attached either. I need to get this out so I can fully inspect my floorpan and take the headliner out.
Any help would be great.

Thanks Dean, much appreciated.
With that out, will I have easy access to take the top part out? Or do I need to look somewhere else? (ie. trunk, under the frame, etc)

To remove the rear seat bottom, just push back on the very bottom of the rear seat about an inch, then pull up and forward to remove it. It will be a bit difficult. The back of the bottom part is wedged behind the upright seat back, so raising the bottom to about a 30 degree angle will allow it to pull out.

The back part is held in with two bolts just below the seat, one on each side about 8 inches from the left and right edge. You can access them from inside the car after you remove the rear seat bottom section.
Here is a picture of the rear seat back, where you can see the metal rings at the bottom that have the bolts through them to hold the seat in place:

After the two bolts are removed, lift the seat back straight up to release it from the hooks along the top edge just below the package tray.

Cool. Thanks guys.

With that out (yeah, I know, it's a long list), will I be able to take the rear armrests out?

I usually have to push in on the seat back while lifting up on it in order to get it to release from the upper hooks ('69).

Yes, you will have access to it when the seat is out.

Yeah, they may be difficult. Any tricks. One comes out easy on mine, the other is not. I can do it, but it always takes more than some effort.
