Does anyone know what the width difference is after converting from drum to disc brakes and which component causes the difference? My front disc are 1" wider than the rear.

It's the rotor/hub assembly. You gain about 7/16" per side. This is a pic of a zero offset rotor versus a stock rotor.

Do you have the info on the 0 offset rotor? Part# or who has it?

Thanks for the info

Did you ever find out what rotor that is? I'm interested also.
Thanks.

Thomas, did you find any info on those rotors. I'd like to have a set.

I didn't even know there was a difference, Does the zero offset rotor work on the stock spindle that accepts the offset rotor?

What effect does the offset rotor have on the caliper alignment?

I think the rotor is for a 77 camaro application. I know it uses the same bearing sets, but I am going to have try one to see about spindle and caliper fitment, unless someone else knows the answers.

Your '66 spindles should be the same as 1st Gen. Camaro cars.

We have drums, 2-piece rotor/hubs and 1-piece cast rotor hubs.

The drums have right at a 9/16" narrower wheel mount face dimension per side vs the 2-piece and the cast rotor hubs.

And some guys refer to this as "J" or "Joe" which is the wheel mount face distance measurement from the end of the hub. I think Joe was the guy that 1st got into this and named it is all, but it's been years??

David Pozzi's great site has pic's of this on it.

So i'm resurrectnig this thread because I am going to try to pick up one of these zero offset rotors and see if it'll fit properly on my setup. I need to move my wheels in just a bit and I think this might get me where I need to be!

The only place I found to have the rotors would not sell them unless you purchased their disc brake kit. The zero offset rotor is not aligned with the 69-72 caliper bracket, so that would have to be corrected. I don1t know about the 77 rotor. I went to the parts store and looked at the rotor book trying to find a rotor. No luck.

I found the rotor for the 77 here locally, the cheapest one is 38$ EACH, I am probably going to buy it and try it, if it doesn't fit i'll return it. IF it fits though, i'll get their nicer version rotors and update my kit.
