Hi guys. Some of you may already know me from the Camaro Research Group. I'm putting the finishing touches on the steering wheel report and need some help.

The 69 Camaro (standard) steering wheel shroud was pebble grained (see top picture).

Was the 69 Chevelle (standard) steering wheel shroud also pebble grained? I ask because I've been told that the 69 Chevelle shroud was leather grained (see bottom picture).

However, I've also read that the 70 Chevelle was when they went to the leather grained, so I need some verification for the report.

If anyone can comment I'd apreciate it since I'm not up on the Chevelle's!

Ed, I believe you'll find the 69 Chevelle wheel was also pebble grained and the 70 Chevelle wheel is of the leather grain style.

Mike may be right, I've not paid any attention to the '69 wheels...

John, you mean the 1970 was refered to as the "Camera Grain"??? You have 1969 in your reply.

Thanks guys. I did some more reading (and looking on ebay, which isn't always a good indicator), and it does appear the 69 models (Camaro, Chevelle, Nova and Full Size) used the Pebble graining and the 70 models (Camaro, Chevelle, Nova and Full Size) used the Leather (or Camera Case) graining.

Sorry for the confusion Ed, '69 pebble grain (camera grain as I like to call it) and '70 would be the leather grain.

The 70 was the leather grain but the SS did not have the rectangle around it.
The rectangle was on the 69 SS wheel.

Thanks again fellas. Report is done and just needs to go through the screening process now. It should be published within the next few weeks or so.
