i hate to put this in the restoration forum since i won't be "restore"ing anything, but here goes.

just a quick question/opinion

anyone think these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-1972-70-71-72-Chevelle-396-OEM-SS-Rocker-Trim_W0QQitemZ260273397903QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item 260273397903&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C65%3A1%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245)
would look good on this?

were there different measurements for rocker trim on the chevelles vs. the ss?

thanks

Personally, I don't care for them. If I were restoring a Malibu to original, I would use them. I have never seen them on a true SS, so I don't think they were available. Maybe as an option, I don't know. So it's up to you. If you have an SS, or clone, don't do it. If it's a flat hood, maybe so.

There is no orderable RPO code for them but I've seen a few SS cars with them. Some owners of original cars say they came with them - could have been dealer installed to dress them up, could have been almost any reason. Like dealers in '66 painting the rear cove black because the cars sold better.

There's a Forest Green and an Autumn Gold SS on my gallery page at http://www.chevellestuff.com/1970/chevelle/gallery/index.htm that appear to have them.

Personally I wouldn't install them if you don't have to but as always, it's a matter of choice.

welp,
i bought the rocker trim and wheel well moldings. i'm pretty sure i know how to install the wheel wells, but i am writing to ask if anyone might be able to instruct me as to how to install the rocker trim, i'd greatly appreciate it. went through the tech guides and no one mentioned it. do i drill through the rocker panels?

just thought i'd ask you guys, since everyone here is so helpful

thanks in advance!

p.s.- the only thing i know by searching the forums is to use the small holes not the big oval ones!
