I have a 70 Chevelle that Im going to be building as an aggressive street/strip car. Right now the suspention is original. Im not wanting to do a 4 link or ladder bar set up, but the stock equipment does need to be upgraded. My questions are; Do both the upper and lower control arms need to be adjustable or would just uppers or lowers be enough? What exactly does a lift bar do? Does anyone use UMI stuff? Ive never heard anything bad about them, plus they have pretty good prices. What kind of spring rate should I get for the coils? What shock rate?
BTW, this will be for a 454-Muncie-12 bolt car.
Thanks for any help!

I would start with some SSM style lower control arms/brackets, adjustable upper control arms, good adjustable shocks, sticky tires for the track and maybe an anti-roll bar........ttt
This has been asked before so you could try a search.

The rear is already a 4 link FWIW.

Well, sort of. It is a converging 4-link which is the same only in that there are four attaching bars. They do not function anything to close to one another.

Ive never heard of SSM. I think I found their wesite, but I couldnt find any LCAs. If you know of a link, that would be great. And are you talking about a rear or front anti roll bar?

South Side Machine made lift bars years ago and I think they were the first with that style. I'm pretty sure they don't make them anymore and I'm not sure they are still in business. UMI, Lakewood and I think some others make a similar product now......UMI is a member here.
