Do they run the Pavillions shows through the summer here.... or is this your down time, like our winters in New England??
I'm in town and sure the wife would love me playing dumb and happening upon a car show.:D

Hi Seb.
I haven't been to the Pavillians in a while, but I still think they run in the summer months. Usually late afternoon into the early evening. Nice place to hang out and nice cars too.

Check out this site for more AZ car shows.

Good luck and have a great time.

Like Steve and Philip said, goes year round, but the summer is definitely slower than the cooler months of the year. A lot more of the younger crowd/newer cars in the summer.

Yep.... lot's of newer Mustangs, Vettes, three identical new Challengers... (that's gotta suck a little) :D and definitely a younger crowd.
Ryan enjoyed it and used it to try to enlighten me on why I should let him have his Mustang out here now. :noway:
I kinda wish I could let him have it , but he needs to concentrate on more important things and get settled in and used to the big change in his life.
Then..... maybe I'll ship it out if he's doing well.
Anyway...... I can see how well done this show is , you guys are lucky out here with this weather, back home half of the cruises and shows I usually hit throughout the summer have been washouts this year!

I posted the pics yesterday in this section and they got moved to Current Events:confused:

Oh well...it was a moderators decision...and all I did was provide a link to the other site that they were on. I can respect the decision of the moderator...so I deleted the post from the current events area as well.;)

If the above link gets deleted as well..then just PM me and I will provide a link:beers:

.....and I suspect if you had gone to see Bruce at the Arrowhead Harley Davidson dealership instead of going to the Pavillions, Ryan would be trying to enlighten you on why he needs to have a Harley! And who could blame him l:)

Bruce,
Were leaving on Saturday, we came in Friday and are getting re-aquainted with the area, it's only been 22 years since we moved away.
Lot's of changes/loops  :D
We went up to Sedona today and were gonna try to hook up with some of our old friends from College and from Sunstate Equipment before move in day for Ryan on Wed, after that we'll be getting him settled in and getting emotionally ready for the trip home, it's gonna be tough on Donna... me too.:(

How's the weather Seb? Hot enough for you?:D

I'll take this weather anyday:yes:... I've been saying let's move back here at least three times a day since we've been here.
You know Jay.... you Cowboy fans ruin it for everyone, I tried to get Ryan tix for the Cardinals games against the Giants and the Boys..... but because you guys are ticket Whores :D the Boys tix are not for sale.
Ryans a big Skins fan so he'd be glad to see the other NFC East teams get beat up by the Cards.

Yep.... he's talked about a bike, but that conversation doesn't last long,:noway:
The ASU coeds will be just fine .

To be honest I don't care for the Pavillions car shows. Too many attitudes and politics involved there. It's a damn car show for Gods sake! I like the one on Saturdays at 83 rd Ave and Union Hills. It keeps getting bigger and bigger. I think a lot of people are having trouble with this heat and are much more likely to be bringing stuff out once it cools down.

Is that the cruise in Peoria? Last time I was there, went into the Starbucks, grabbed a frozen mocha frappicino, then walked around. Although the turn out was light, some very nice cars were there.

Ditto on the Pavillions,

Try NW corner 91st Ave and Northern Friday Nights. 150-200 cars showing up now when it's prime time cooler. 5x the space 3x as many restraunts around. Often a DJ shows and that old Hook and Ladder Fire Truck that sells food too.

Plus you don't have to worry about that 1 idiot who is eventually going to mouth off at Safeway managment and get it shut down.

Hmmm...I just saw this statement. I have been going to Pavillions for more than 4 years....please explain what you mean???

If anything, the 83rd cruise has a bit of an issue in that you can save spots for friends indefinitely...much to the chagrin of anyone who wants to come out and check things out. I live less than 3 miles from the 83rd cruise...and have gone there at 4pm only to find about 100 cars...and as many (if not more) spots being saved for people who may or may not show up! Talk about politics...LOL

At least at Pavillions...if you are not there by 4pm...your friends who are saving spots have to give them up to the first person who pulls up. I will actually drive to Pavillions for that reason. I also like the fact that Pavillions cruise people will save a whole row for car clubs/makes (that rotate out every weekend) So, you may end up with a large group of Pontiacs one weekend, then Oldsmobiles the next. They also have a DJ playing tunes as well. They tried a DJ at 83rd...but it lasted maybe 2 weeks. There is also a problem with idiots who burn out at 83rd...and it may just be a matter of time before the car show is stopped there.

I know the owner of the property that the 83rd show is held at...he's a car guy...and he's had cars that have been featured in books and magazines as well.

He's just not into getting sued...

So keep that in mind if you run across the fools who think that they have to show everybody how much of an idiot they are...the next time you are at 83rd! Some policing of what's going on (call it politics if you will) goes a long way to keeping an area safe and fun for all involved.

I have friends at both cruises....and when it's hot out...I stick close to home. If there's a parking space available at 83rd...I will stop in for a bit and shoot some pics as well.

Davo...sorry that you had a bad experience at Pavillions.:( I was really busy the night that you showed up there. Don't be afraid to give it another try!

Just my 2 cents...:beers:

I guess I'd have the same question. It's a cruise night with no registration and no judging.....how in the world can there be any politics involved  And attitudes??? Every time I've been there it seems very laid back to me, with the possible exception of January at auction time when it is really busy

I have no dog in the fight here, but I think you're being unduly harsh in your assessment. One would be hard pressed to find any weekly car show venue - anywhere - that consistently has the quantity, quality, and variety of vehicles available for viewing at The Pavillions.
