I heard a rumor that there exists an adaptor plate to put old style valve covers on centerbolt heads.

I, however, have been unable to find any truth to the above statement...anyone else?

Yes it exists.

Looks just like you'd expect: like a valve cover flange, with segments joining the 2 long sides.

Seems as though there are several vendors of them. Trick Flow might be one.

The cheapest I've seen are around $100 for a pair. The GM ones are about $50 more.

Here's the Trick Flow at Summit. (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=valve+cover+adapters&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp)

Cool....thank y'all.

What do y'all think...edelbrock elite centerbolt, or adaptors and the elite regular valve covers that I've already got???

It's a matter of taste, but I think I'd go with the center bolt covers to avoid the chance of leaks. The perimiter covers look better though. I guess I'm saying I have no idea of what I'm saying. graemlins/clonk.gif

my father runs the GMPP adapters on his vortec headed 350..those things leak and crack..he is on his second set, and they still leak. It uses an o-ring seal which is bolted down in the middle..not much pressure on the outer edges, and the perimeter valve covers don't help any. He is changing back to centerbolts really soon.
