Just wondering if a higher stall converter (2500-2800 rpm) will help traction or hurt it? (assuming on street tires)

A stall will bring your cam to it's torque range. I'd say on street tires your really going to spin them. The other benefit is car will not pull through brakes while stopped.

It will hurt on street tires, it will improve 60ft. times providing you can hook with drag radials or slicks.
