I know this topic has been discussed quite a bit and not that long ago I just need some opinions. I am going to build a 30,000 mile '74 454, it will probably get a .030" overbore and I'm shooting for about 9.3 to 1 comp. Right now I'm leaning toward a Lunati 302A6LUN flat tappet Hyd. with 221/230 Dur @ .050", .515"/.515" lift, 112 L/S on 106 C/L. Intake will be an Edelbrock Performer 2-O topped with the original Q-Jet (well tweaked) and a set of 1-3/4" full length headers. Trans will be a 200-4R with a 3.73 posi out back. I have my choice of heads, the 049's that came on the motor originally but were stored elsewhere and have gotten pretty crusty or a set of much cleaner 820's. Given this is a street only machine is there enough difference between the 2 sets of heads to make a difference I would feel on the "Butt Dyno" or should I just go for the set that will clean up the easiest ? Thanks.

Street only car? If so, take your pick! Street/Strip car looking for every ounce, 049's.
