Ok, so we've got one.

I've never sweated playing a video game before.

BTW, my wife beat the crap out of me in the boxing game.

If your working up a sweat sitting in a chair swinging your arm ~ 12-inches or so. I suggest doing some additional training by doing a few extra 12- ounce curls.

Wii is dumb. Bad graphics, lame games, and besides, who wants to swing their arms around wildly while playing a video game??

No thanks. I'll take our PS3 with Blu-Ray capability. Better yet, I'll load up a game on my PC... Sit back and smoke some bad guys.

I'd rather have our Wii so my 5 yr old son isn't just sitting in one spot like a lump when he is allowed to play video games. Maybe I'll rush out and get a PS3, so my son can learn all he needs to know about life from Grand theft Auto. As far as the graphics, I guess kids now days are spoiled. They never had to play Pong, or the Atari 2600. I have no problems with the Wii's graphics. And there are less cartoonish games.

Sorry, I just get tired of hearing people bash the Wii. I realize it's not for everybody, but my whole family likes it. It's the first game system I felt was worth buying since my original Playstation.

How the heck do adults have the time to play video games? I dont even have kids and by the time I get home from work, handle my dogs, work on cars, get dinner done, make a few calls, etc theres no time left.

Now, I dont think any of the adults here are slackers or anything so dont take offense here, I know better and have seen the work done on your cars, etc so where the HECK do you find the time to play video games?

Only adults I know that spend time on video games are serious slackers, still live at home with mom at 35 and get all excited to go wait in line overnight at the walmart for the latest release of whatever game is coming out.

I dont see how one finds the time for this stuff. Havent even turned my xbox on in over 2 years and even when it was new it was MAYBE once a week on Sunday and I had to be sick or something.

Or maybe we busy adults know how to manage our time better and squeeze in a little playtime now and then. I work 40 hrs a week, raise 3 kids, completing a bachelors degree, work on cars, work on the house, and still find time to play now and then. Maybe the reason you don't have kids is you spend all your time playing with the wrong "toys" :D

And I'm tired of people defending the system. It's a system where you flail your arms around for nothing. If you want to box, get a punching bag. Bowl? Hit the alleys. Golf? Hit the links. Etc... If my 3 yr old wants to play a game, I have a Vtech V. Smile Learning System (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2661784), but that's pretty rare, because as long as it isn't raining, we're out playing in the park or going out somewhere to do something.

If I want to play a video game at the end of the day, I want to sit back and enjoy awesome graphics, awesome sound and experience lots of action.

We have this thing out east called WINTER, it's a great time for some video games..I don't touch them when I can be outside, but I like to play when the snow flys....

Don't buy a Wii then. Simple.

I for one won't play a video game where all I do is sit on my ass and shoot cops. Not that shooting cops is necessarily a bad thing ( ;) ), just that to me sitting in front of a TV like that is a waste of time. At least with a Wii the whole family can participate and get some exersize at hte same time.

Obviously we disagree. I really enjoy the Wii. I don't play games too often, but as long as they're fun I don't need the best graphics. It goes back to people that blast Macs, because they don't have the best game like PC. Who cares. I don't play games on my computer and I don't see a reason to pay more money for a PS3, because it has slightly better graphics, and plays Blu Ray. If I want a BLu Ray player I'll buy one.

My son almost always plays outside, or with other toys before he plays video games. But he has a blast playing games like Golf, Bowling, MarioKart, and Mario Party.

At the end of the day, any system that you can still buy games for is a worth while system. I was burned by the Sega Saturn, and had to buy a PS when they quit making games for it. So whether it's a PS3, Xbox360, or a Wii, as long as you can still get games, it's all the same to me. I won't invite you over to play the Wii, and I won't ask to play you're PS3 :D

lol...winter...I have heard of this. When the ground gets white and stuff, right?

I wasnt trying to knock anyone, just curious where one finds the time with work, kids, projects, cars, etc. Winter would explain it. We forget about that thing in California sometimes. :D

I beg to differ. :) up here in the land of frozen november to April, we have a little snow.

I have an Atari throwback system that has a couple dozen retro games from the past like Pole Position, Pitfall, Space Invaders, etc. Wife wanted it for x-mas a few years back. Has about 4 hours total play time on it. We sold the playstation that year 'cause we never played it either.

Now, for home games, we have it all figured out now. I have a joystick and the wife..............:thumbsup::p

Wanna really sweat and get sore get the Wii Fit game. It'll measure your center of gravity, measure your BMI, weigh you and will give you an overall workout. We have all three major gaming platforms and the Wii gets used the most. I'd rather have my sons up moving around playing a video game, than be sedentary for hours on end fixated on wacking other people out there playing Halo online.

Man, ain't that the truth

I did get out and haul another Ford to the shredder yesterday. :hurray:
It brought me $344.00 - less cat converter and wheels/tires/battery
(with and old furnace sans blower on the trailer and the car full of other small junk)
Price is down to $200.00 per ton :(

I tried playing the wii between jobs, calls and meetings at work but the people in the office on the floor below me thought I was having sex in my cubicle from all the jumping, flailing, hopping and bowling movements. Didnt go over well. Kind of embarassing even though it wasnt true cause the area I work in is all men.....some fruity, some not fruity but still scary.

I'm fairly young and used to be a video game junkie BIGTIME. In high school I don't think I slept on the weekend. I've been out of college for four years now and I still have a PS2. However, when I bought the chevelle last year my gaming has dropped to about nothing. I work......... get home beat on the car for hours and make dinner. Then I'm off to bed. So I have to give a thumbs up to the 71 in the garage for breaking my old addition so I could get a new one. This one is proving to be way more expensive though. :p

I guess I should comment on the Wii. I enjoy playing my younger brother's system (8 and 12) because it is fun to play together. I could also see it being fun with a large group of friends. But I can't see how it would be alot of fun by myself. I'm a big race or action kind of gamer and the Wii does not perform all that well in that area. Forza 2 on Xbox360 is awsome and Blazen Angles on PS3 is great because it is also motion sensitive like the Wii and you can fly the plane by moving the controler like a stick on a plane. All three systems have their positives. I'm debating on a Xbox360 or PS3 for when the snow starts to fall on me in a few months. My garage is too small and not heated to keep up the chevelle work 365.

I used to be a big computer gamer years ago, just dont have the time for it now. Its easy to hooked on it thats for sure. Whats really wierd is I loved Quake 1,2,3 game and after I quit playing it my neighbor who built a 17,500 SF huge home was the inventor of the PC games His name is Danny Hammett when he was www.activision.com.
Now he is CEO of this place (http://www.twlk.com/twlk/hammett.aspx)

Which makes me wonder when the porn industry will jump on the Wii bandwagon. "Leisure Suit Larry" for Wii, maybe?
