I was out at the Monrovia Pick-a-part and saw some stuff you guys might be interested in. Unfortunately I didn't find what I was really looking for ( front brake lines for the '70 ) but I did find some parts to recurve the dizzy in my GF's '78 El Camino (brownie points? :D )
3 454's in the yard. One Fuel Injected, Two Carbureted.
One is in the Old Truck section up front, it's in a '70s C20(?) heavy duty looking pickup, I think it was a dually. This one has 049 heads on it.
Another is in the Heavy Duty truck/RV section between the imports and the BOP cars. It's an a huge early '70s RV-motorhome thing. I couldn't get the valvecovers off of that one.
The third is in truck section a few rows back, blue pickup. FI 454 w/ serpentine as of today. I didn't bother to look under the covers because I know it's going to be a peanut port casting, but some of these trucks did have the rare 4-bolt blocks.
There was two or three more 454's that had already been pulled and were for sale.
There was also a '67 El Camino in the yard. Mostly stripped. Still had one decent looking fender (pass.) and both doors looked really nice except they had shaved door handles and locks. The block was still in it -010 block, standard bore not sure if its a 327 or 350. I actually took out the cam for fun and it was an Engle Hyd cam. I got all excited but I found two lobes that were pitted so I left it there. It's a .480 278/278 230/230 110LSA. Woulda sounded nice...
And there was some huge-bored Chrysler engine out of a '66 Chrysler whale of a car.
Oh and in the BOP section there was some sort of Firebird (T/A maybe?) with an Olds 403 and a giant front sway bar.
That's about it. I wish I had the room to store more BBC's but I'm guessing the market for them isn't as hot as a year ago or else they wouldn't be in the yard anymore.
