Anybody running a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and Hayes steel flywheel? I am contemplating it, but I'm leary because my unknown steel flywheel was too thin and my Zoom clutch disk hit the heads of the ARP flywheel bolts. I'm hoping someone has some experience with this so I can get some answers. No manufacturer seems to know, neither does any retailer. Thanks for the help everyone. This car is becoming an incredible money pit.....

I tried to put the "Cheap" Hayes flywheel (the ones Summit used to list in their catalog for like $190). This one would NOT work with a stock replacement OR my new CenterForce DF clutch, because the clutch disc DID hit the flywheel bolts... I ended up spending a little more and getting a Centerforce flywheel.

Summit finally took back the Hayes flywheel, but at first they didn't want to because it had been installed (but never used). Since they didn't realise the problem at first, it was a hassle. The CF flywheel was only around $60 more (its only money)...

In my research I was told that the Hayes required an "aftermarket" clutch setup, and wouldn't work with the stock GM clutch (or stock replacements)... The Centerforce is designed to use the stock (dimension-wise)flywheel...

I'm using the Hayes 168 tooth steel flywheel on my SB, and I also have a centerforce dual friction clutch. I also used ARP flywheel bolts.... I didn't have any clearance problems at all.

I've heard that other people have had interference issues as well, not just 1966_L78. That combination worked for me, so I guess it's a roll of the dice.... :(
