I have been lookign for some bucket seats to recover and work on installing as my winter project this year. I have seen several sell on Ebay for around $300 for some rough seats. IS this about normal or is there somewhere else I should be looking? Hope to have buckets and console in my CB09:thumbsup:
Thanks,
Bob

I have some buckets(black) from my 70 that are rough but could be redone. I went with aftermarket seats for my vehicle. PM me if interested with your e-mail and I'll send you pics.

Part Timer: I paid $250 for a decent set maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I have bought a few sets since. Buying them sight unseen is a gamble. The biggest issue in my opinion would be rust. If they have been stored outdoors or in a damp enviroment they may almost not be worth doing. Ask me how I know. Most sets on ebay still have the covers on them and this doesn't allow you to see the springs and frames. The part you can see ( the covers ) you are going to replace anyway. Plus why pay for shipping for the added weight of the covers and foam when you are just going to throw that stuff away. If interested PM me as I have a set I could sell you for less than 300 and they are already stripped and cleaned. Also you could check Craigslist in your area or any swap meets as well.

Seems to be the going range, $300 and up... I picked up a pair (70-72 Buick/Olds A-body) from the local wrecking yards a few years ago (probably 5 years). It was a "Pick-N-Pull" where the prices are posted... IIRC, $50 for the pair (I think it was a 1/2-price day) but I think the headrests were missing. I also found a single '66 Buick bucket seat (drivers-side power seat was gone)
I know a guy locally (and here on TC- SSChevellefan) that told me he posted a wanted ad on Craigslist, looking for 64/65 seats... Someone sold him a very nice pair of '67 buckets for something like $40 (Forty!!!).
I posted a wanted ad on Craigslist, and had many, many people tell me they wanted between $300 and $700 (cores to "restored")... BUT, I actually had a guy with 69 LeMans seats. He said he wanted $50 for the pair... I went nuts waitning for the guy to get home so I could get them... Needed covers, but pretty nice (the guy had new Procars from Summit)
So, the deals are out there, if you are patient and lucky...

Hard out here in SoCal because of the swap meet vendors easily pulling $300-$400 for ratty cores. I found a set here in the classifieds and the guy was local, they were in good shape, just needed covers and I was happy to pay him the $300 he was asking.

I paid $75.00 for a set of nice Monte seats a couple years ago that were tan so I put different headrest on them but they are usually around 3 bills & up - Got lucky I guess.

I have been informed I should post that my seats are sold.
