Hi all,
Does anyone know of a site/source we can reference to find out exactly what is/is not legal in any given state? Specifically, I'm currently interested in exhaust requirements(and noise limitations) and windshield wiper requirements. This is for a 68 and 69 Chevelle and a 71 Nova.
Thanks.

State laws are public information to begin with - I would think if you go to your states website, you could find it.
Problem is, I doubt it's organized very well...

Yeah, I've already spent some time trying that route...couldn't find anything meaningful. Right now...the specific questions I have are...
1)1971 Nova. Windshield wipers are not there(no motor, arms, nothing). The car will never be driven in the rain...but I don't want any hassles from the highway patrol either.
2)Exhaust. I've been told as long as the tailpipes exit in "air flow" or are "turned down" behind the passenger area...then you are cool.
I've had my 69 Chevelle exiting right in front of my rear tires for 20+ years now and have never been hassled for it---so I'm assuming that portion is correct?
If anyone knows for sure it might save me a lot of time---thanks.

I know lots of people with #1 and I had #2 for a few years. I think you will be just fine, no problems with those. Anything really bad?

Maybe you could just borrow someones phone and call the state police or highway patrol and ask them. They're usually pretty straight shooters on the state level.
I would just say "I have this friend that has this ford with no windshield wipers and the exhaust exits out the side........." You get the idea.
