A bit of a rant, sorry. So, I'm working on a '69 Elky for a guy to make a little money on the side and help him out. I am swaping out the old 3 sp manual crap for a TH350. Should be easy, right? Get the thing under the car on the jack ready to install converter and it will not go on. I know how to do it. I do this stuff for a living. tried for way too long, there was something wrong with the converter, almost like the stator was defecive or something.
My customer calls the shop he got the trans. and converter from and the shop of course thinks I don't do what I'm doing. He tells me that you gotta turn it as you push it on to line up the ... & asked if I read his instructions:rolleyes: that he sent with the trans. which were written for the amature or inexpierenced. I thought fine, let's see you do it buddy. So, I have the car owner take the trans. and converter back to the shop to see if THEY can get the converter on. They gave up real quick, agreed that the converter was messed up. Geeze! It is soo much fun dragging that thing in and out from under the car.
