I usually set my rpm at around 700-750, if your rpm gets to high at idle some time it has run on when you shut it off. If you like you car to idle that high and it shuts off fine, then enjoy it. Now in the summer time, when I run the AC I will turn the rpm up a little, because if I am driving and come to a stop for awhile, the engine will lugging because of the AC and the cam thats in the motor, and the blower, etc. So whatever you like, and it runs good, then it's fine.
