I am trying a 750 Speed demon. The stock jetting in 76/83. When I put in on my car to start, i had to pump the accelerator alot to get it to crank. When I went to the track,first pass i tried to leave at 2000 rpm, when I floored it the car just sat there, got quiet, nothing. then it took off. After a couple of passes,( I started leaving at 3000Rpm, car would actually leave without problems)I pulled the plugs, plugs were very white. We didn't have any bigger jets, so I put my holley back on, and it was running lean also. We jetted it up and it still was running a little lean. Then we remembered, oh yeah, I cut my mufflers off, now we know what caused the problems. Any ways, A friend of mine was reading a magazine article were they ran a speed demon 750 with 81/88 jets on a sbc 383(I think). What do ya'll think about trying out that jetting. I don't have a jet kit, so I am going to have to go buy some jets. I have 81's. Anybody eles running a speed demon, what are your jettings?
I live in east Texas, very low area, close to sea level.

Z, I ran a 750 Speed Demon on my 415 SBC with 82 / 91 jets. It was running lean until than. Hope this helps. Don

You may need to increase the pump shot to get rid of the hesitation off the line.
