You guys might laugh when you hear what I'm tring to do.
I have a 68 chevelle with a 572 pushing 800 hp and and an ass load of tourqe on pump gas. The car has trick springs and 90/10's up front and edelbrock adjustable uppers and boxed lowers in the rear with a trick spring and Qa1 12 way adjustable shocks in the rear. The pinion angle is -3 and shocks are set at 0. The car also has a 29/10/15 slick on it. I street race the car and it blows the tire off for three gears even with VHT and rubber compound down on the road. Does anybody have any tips on how I can make this thing hook a little better?
Thanks CuznD

I have the same problem with my car with a 460.

For you, I would try to get as much weight out of the front end as possible.
Alum radiator, brackets, water pump, battery to the trunk,, etc.
Then try removing or disconnecting the front sway bar.
Have you experimented with different air pressure in the slicks.
I cant' do any of this stuff because I want to keep it as stock looking as possible.

I see a problem with why your blazin the hides, set the rear shocks to about a # 6 setting which is a 50/50 setting, and see what happens. It sounds like your axle is climbing up into the wheel tubs and thus taking traction away from the tires at the ground. You need to get some video of your rear end on a luanch also if possible and watch what the rear of the body does in relation to the rear axle and tires, also if you have a small to no gap between the pass rear tire and the fender well lip, then this is bad as the torque is driving your right rear tire up into the fender thus taking traction again away from the ground, we need to have body to axle seperation for these A-body's to work well, and the more you play, the more you learn what YOUR setup neede to be. Hope this helps, and picture a 72 Elcamino with a 505 in big block going 9.90's on the hit at the strip!!!!! and when you see this setup work, yours wil seem simple to make work then. God luck and let us know what happens.
