Started motor today after short blocking in the car. As soon as I hit the key it fired right up with36* of timming perfect for my cam and set up but the driver side exhaust has a very erratic popping sound one engine builder told me it sounded as though I had a valve to tight any suggestions would be very helpful!!!!!!!!

Do you have a header gasket leaking maybe?

I really dont think so as the popping is coming out the exhaust. But thanks for the suggestion!! Your motor sounds alot like mine Im running 840 heads that have been severley worked opps I mean massaged thats what my head guy calls it at HVH. Im lucky I live in Knoxville and thats where High Velocity Heads is located.. I strongly recommend them!!!!!!!!!
