: Can't find this part anywhere.....

While drag racing in a big event this past September, my "through the firewall gas pedal linkage" broke. It snapped in two just after entering the firewall in the small tube. I have a 1967 El Camino.

I have called every company that I know of and no one carries this linkage. I have been told to search the salvage yards, but there are not many (none) '67 elky's or chevells to get the part from. Do any of you guys know where I can find this part. Your help is greatly appreciated!

check out lokar cables, you might find a better replacement, they have pedals, mounts and other stuff, unless you want to stay all original

unless you want to keep the factory style linkage, get a pedal and cable out of a 70 Nova- they are really plentiful in the boneyards, and will bolt right in. you just need to drill a hole for the cable to pass thru, but there is actually a little dimple in the firewall for that, since (i think) the 6 cylinder Chevelles had a cable setup.
otherwise, i can ask my cousin if he still has the stock linkage out of his 66 Chevelle.

I have thought about going with a cable setup, but it would be so much simpler to replace the "L" shaped piece of linkage. If your cousin has the piece an doesn't need it, I would be glad to buy it from him.
Thanks,
Daniel

Maybe Dick at True Connections has it on one of his parts cars. Might ask him.

Daniel, how the heck did that break? Heavy foot smile.gif ? I have a couple of these for 66's and I'm sure they are the same. Email me offline and I'm sure we can work something out.
