Call up the local driveline shop, ask them how they want you to measure it so they can cut down the current driveline, or make you a new one. Get it balanced also.

I'm not condoning this but back in high school a buddy of mine made a long bed Chevy pick up into a short bed, he just cut it and welded it back together, it didn't even vibrate..

Some things you may not know, the TH400 is a 32 spline output, the PG is a 27 so you need a new yoke on the shaft.

I think the cross member is in a different location and the length thing is best measured by you so you are responsible when it's wrong, or right:yes:

Let the shop who will do the work tell you how they want it measured.

I just got one made from the drive shaft shop in north carolina. I told them what I had, and they just told me how to measure, and made it up. Plug and play. Was about $375, a lot cheaper than most places, and that is because I had it made with 1350 heavy duty yoke and Ujoint since I replaced the one on my pinion to a 1350. They said would be good to 800HP, and they balance to 10K rpm. Anyway, just a suggestion.

They told me to measure from the back of the tranny, not the back of the output shaft, and to the center line of the yoke.
