Yes Robert, thats my boy. By the way he got lucky and won his class despite the performance disadvantage in the final. 5.93 beat a 5.89 but he was deepstaged some which kills some E.T. and had a .415 light. We still can't get much N2O through the small #4 line. Most of these cars know something we don't know as most were running over 120 MPH in the eighth and our best was a 116.6 but they just can't bite with us. Best 60' was a 1.35. That Jerry Bickle firebird that we drew in the first round is awsome. It red lighted bad and crossed the center line, lucky for us, while pulling a 300+ foot, skyscraper, 45 degree wheelstand and took out the 330' photocells when it got out of shape after coming down. About as big a wheelie as i can remember not to have damaged the car.

I'm guessing your home track must be Ozark, right? I hope all these tracks get together and all schedule these shootout races. With proper promotion this series with Jeff Holloway's rules could bring in big crowds for everybody and all the track owners would benefit. Both these races have been great shows. All the top 10 cars were within a tenth of each other at Mokan in my sons class. I also knew we would have a chance on the shorter 1/8 mile track where our lack of power wouldn't be so important. If all the people in an area would show up for these events it will greatly benefit the tracks in the long run.

Yes its Ozark,I ran no/e points at MoKan 3 years ago, then moved closer to springfield so I switched to Ozark, I prefer the 1/4 mile though. I wish they would get together also, I think the ADN finals 3-4 years back ruined it...the track owner at Ozark has problems with Carl at MoKan, two hard headed track owners. They could increase car numbers at both tracks if they could "just get along" :D

Maybe with Jeff Holloway putting on the show they could come to some sort of an agreement so all could prosper. I know a guy who is fairly good friends with Carl so maybe something can be worked out. The eight mile is a lot easier on parts and definately makes it a drivers race. I too prefer the 1/4 but you need a fair amount of space to stop a 165 MPH car and Tulsa has the longest shutdown area of the strips i've been to. Never been to Ozark though.

All the heads up cars at Ozark run 1/8th mile, along with super/pro. No/e and trophy run 1000ft, and you can run 1/4 mile on friday TNT nights with street tires. Back when Ozark reopened at Rogersville, almost 30 yrs ago, it was all 1/4 mile, they even had funny cars and T/F run at the track, since then I think 2-3 have been killed, and some were suspect??? Not sure if insurance played a part in shortening the track or not. I can make the first turn around after a 1000ft pass if I want to,I like to just let off and cruise to the last turn off. If a throttle stuck you'd have to do some quick thinking though.

You ought to come to Tulsa next year Robert. the track here is really nice since the rebuild and sticky as a plate full of maple syrup.
