I'm going to build an street engine to my -70 Chevelle and a friend of mine who has built many race Chevy engines told me to get Aluminium heads to what ever engine I was going to build...What do you guys think about that ?

Swede,
If cost is not an issue, aftermarket aluminum heads are the only way to go. Weightsavings and better design. AFR or Brodix are an excellent starting point in your search. Email this guy for more info. Very helpful and good prices. Wolfplace (http://lewisracingengines.com)

It really depends on what you are going to do with this motor, street? strip? both, many have achieved great results with GM iron heads.

Imho, the Aluminum Canfield 310 cc rect. jobbers are good value.

BUT how big a motor you want to run them on??

I ask this b/c a 6,000rpm 454 takes a different head then a 500", big bore-short stroke, 9,000rpm Pro Stock motor is all...
