I have a 355 9.6:1CR
I am going to buy the 280H comp cams magnum cam
What size converter should i buy to go with this cam?
The velle is dailydriven.
I currently have 373 gears but am going to go 411s pretty soon.

Ill prolly go out to the track about 5 times during the year. And i dont know if im gona have slicks or not. I was thinking abuot something around 2500 stall. Would that be alright?

I have 28inch tall rear tires so thats why i wanted to go to the 411gears

Westy, is the idle pretty rough on that cam? And would i be better off buying 1.6 rockers for this cam?

You'd be better off calling a reputable converter company,telling them what you have and what you want to do with it,let them choose the converter-ATI,BTE,Coan,Continental,etc.

Actually the gears aren't likely to help much with a mildly cammed engine. I have a Buick G.S. with a 455 Stage One motor and the gears didn't help because the power band worked with the stock 3.42s. More gear just added up to more engine wear and noise and cut the gas mileage a bunch. Get a 24" or 26" tire to race on. That way you can carry the shorter tires to the track and not have to live with the stiff gears on a day to day basis.
