Let me start out saying that I am 47 yrs old and have been balding for around 20 yrs. I was in a restaurant the other day and see this guy with a ridiculous comb over.

Doesn't he realize he is not fooling anyone but himself??? I know people are vain but come on, your bald and no amount of comb over will hide that!!!!

Toupee's aren't much better, you can spot them a mile away!!!!

I just had to get this out, how do you feel about this subject????

Personally I have no problem with my baldness, glad that I made it this far in life and if I am going to do anything about it,I will just crew cut it or shave it, no hiding it for me. It is was it is!!!

thanks for letting me rant (let the flaming begin LOL)

Comb overs are bad news, I think a toupee's can looks really good or really bad. My wife picks them out all the time, I can't really notice them until she points them out.

Hair plugs are kinda scary too.

I say just keep it short and clean looking, 'bout all you can do.

I think combovers don't look too bad and toupees when properly done look great.;) Of course that's because I don't really need one.;)

I keep my hair really short anyway. But if I were going bald I would either keep it really short or shave my head .

I comb my hair the same as I always have. Yes the front is heading to join the shiney spot in the back but I wear a hat most of the time.
It is starting to really thin in front now so I have concidered shaving it all off but not sure my head is "pretty" enough to get away with it.
My wife gets mad every time I say I'm going to do it. Maybe next cut I'll just get it buzzed really short.:D
No way would I resort to a comb over or a rug!:noway:

Nothing wrong with being bald..No need to hide it...It use to bother me, I would ware a hat most of the time, and would not like it very much if someone messed with it..But after I figured out no one really cares anyway... I pitched it....Got a tan on the old bald head ...Keep whats left short .. and the worries of hair are gone.. Hey and a lot of ladies dig bald heads....So be proud let it shine....

you know, most guys who are bald, actually look good that way. i think a shaved or very short hair looks better than any comb over, and i've yet to not spot a hair piece no matter how good (cough, ben affleck, cough) (burp, burt reynolds, burp)...

i'm pretty lucky right now, getting close to 50 and still have most of my hair, and unfortunately i don't have the head to carry the shaved look, which by the way i'm jealous of. i'd love to throw the razor on #2 and just shave once a week, i also look like crap in hats, so i'm hoping in the future to have all the hair growing out of my ears and back transplanted to my head, i have enough to cover me till at least 2020.....

I'm Thirty and at the first sign of my hair thinning in the least bit I shaved it ALL off! I had long hair for years and I think it put too much stress on my hair. Now When I do let it grow for a buzz cut it grows thicker, but my wife like no hair on my head. Chest, chin & Back Ok but not on the head. Go figure

Neither. Its ridiculous to try and hide what cannot effectively be hidden. Its akin to trying to hide a boner when you're wearing sweats. Futile. everyone knows its there and trying to hide it just makes it worse cause now ya just look stupid for trying to hide it.

Think i'd go for one of those hair replacement deals if anything. Comb overs....lordy. Nothing is funnier on a windy day than a guy with a comb over doing a wheelie on his head. looks like a lamborghini driving down the street with one door open. Even better when the wind settles and the comb over is now flopped over to the wrong side and youve gone from lambo with one door open to a plane with one wing.

My twin sons are 26. They were meticulous about their hair throughout HS and a few years after. The minute they started detecting widows peaks startting (inherited from moms side of family) off came the hair!:D

I don't wear hats to hide the thing/receding hair. It just got to be a habbit from military days! Until I went in in 1970 I had LONG hair and would never have dreamed of hiding it under a hat!;)

Both look ridiculous to me! I get a good laugh when I see a man with a comb over or toupee. The Donald looks funny as all heck with his comb over (or is it a hybrid of comb over and toupee?). Either way he should fire his hair stylist. lol.

I started going bald in my early 20s. Shaved my head at 28 and never looked back :)

I'm 53 and started losing my hair in high school, male pattern baldness, been shaving it all off for eight years and don't miss my hair. The only time I wear a hat is when I go to car shows or am doing my yard.

Something to note - You rarely if ever see a bald homeless person or lifelone welfare case. Going bald is a sign from god that you will be OK financially, will hold a job and be able to live a fairly nice life.

Seems that NOT losing ones hair, either a little or entirely presents the risk that you may end up living in a tent or a trailer and have folks greeting you at WalMart like people did with Norm at cheers.

I noticed this a while back. Bald(ing) folks are more stable, have better luck in the job market and better success at life and leading a stable life.

If your not somewhat losing your hair by age 30 I highly recommend shaving it off to ward off the possibility that you'll be the guy with a mullet on a tenspeed bike with the handlebars flipped around.

I started losing my hair when I was 26. I shaved it off and immediately started getting compliments from my wife, women co-workers and friends. Haven't gone much more than a weekend without shaving since. They say you have to have the head for it. Well I guess I do. :)
Play the hand you are dealt. Life is to short to worry about the little things.

I,m losing my hair on the back. I wear hats constantly, not because of the thinning, actually I personally feel it caused the thinning. I have always worn hats and I feel naked without them.

I couldn't care less about my hair thinning out. I figure if that is my biggest issue I have with my body right now is balding, I am doing pretty darn good. Every where you look their are people with much more serious health issues, I am merely balding, I am cool with that.

The Marine Corps cut my golden locks, and they never returned. My wife has only known me with short hair or no hair. At 30 I started using a clippers set at #1, as of the last 2 years I just shave it 2-3 times a week. Why hide it? It's obvious to everyone. Gillette Fusion gets my head as smooth as a baby's Butt. Many women have "fondled" my bald head :D
If you are Fat everyone sees it, If you are bald everyone knows it, why try to hide it.

I have been chuckling over that for years.
That is definitely bad.

I shave my head, my brother-in law shaves his head, my father-in law is bald.
So used to seeing bald guys I guess I never think about it.

There was a guy that I used to work with that had some hair transplants that never really were enough to really cover his head so he supplemented with some sort of brown (spray paint) for your head to cover the thin areas. Can't imagine spray painting my head every day. There are a couple of guys that I see at my local swap meets that wear a bad rug. I always want to tell them that it looks good and nobody will ever know ;)

I dont care for hats so I have to put sun screen on my head or suffer the pain of a sun burnt scalp! You have to laugh at the "Ads by Google" at the bottom of the page of this thread.
They all have to do with hair-loss.
I had never noticed that the ads below the thread end up being related to the subject of the thread.
Very funny IMO.

So right after I post this the ads were Chevelle related.
I had to come back and edit my post.
But randomly before I posted this the ads were hair loss related.

Ahh... So that explains it Beaux. ;) First time I met you, you had that really long hair...

The only real bad part about "thinning" hair for me, was that my brother (5 years older, and still a thick head of hair) was the first one to point it out to me... I started thinning in my mid 20's, and my brother is now 46 with no signs...
Of course, he isn't too financially stable...

I like to think that my superior intelligence causes too much heat from brainpower, and therefore hair has a hard time growing... :D

God's cruelty, So much hair growing everywhere (ears, nose, back), except on the very top...

I am not vain enough to spend any money (Rogaine, transplant, toupe)... Rather spend the money on the Chevelles... Maybe if someone had some free suggestions, I might try them, but otherwise I am fine...

I don't have to worry about thinning hair. The only thing I have to worry about is it being grey by the time I'm 40. My dads hair is for the most part still colored but my mom dyes hers to cover up the grey.
