Ok, so, my brother and I finally got the front end all together and installed new springs with it. Well the velle had a 350 before and that's what we had planned to put back in it. So he buys SB w/ AC springs (because we planned on putting AC in it). Well for some strange reason, he now wants to put a 454 in it. Is it possible to do this with SB w/ AC springs if we don't add the AC to the BB? Can a BB weigh that much more than a SB w/ AC?

I have bb in where a sb w/ac was. I haven't driven it yet but it looks fine and sits fine. Could be mushy but it don't seem like it. And my bb has ac also.

And if you do notice, just change the springs out. Its not too expensive and pretty easy to do.

True...but changing springs is not my favorite thing to do in the world! :D
Ride height isn't a huge deal...is safety and life of the spring affected though?

I wouldnt exactly say its not safe but it would probably handle slightly better with a stiffer spring. The spring will last just as long.

I am running a BB on SB W/AC springs no troubles. I did it on purpose hoping to lower the front end some. It really has not dropped in about 6mos.
