I'm continuing to accumulate parts for my 496 project....now I need engine frame mounts [remember its a 69 GTO not Chevelle] Os I visit the 'worlds marketplace' and see all kinda frame mounts, new and used. My Chevelle catalog lists repops for 68 and newer 'BBC'....Ebay has Greenwood Chevy listing them as Big block AND Small block [same part number] and the used ones pictured [small block]look just like the one Greenwood Chevy has.

I did a quick search of THIS site and found answers making both claims, BBC is the SAME as SBC and BBC Is DIFFERENT than SBC.

One of you guys must know the answer...price difference is probably $60...same cost as a new Carter 120GPH fuel pump... HELP!!

for 68-72 the 350 mount is the same as the BB mount. 307 mounts are the oddball, so stick with the 350/396/454 mounts.

L-78Guy, I used a solid mount from Moroso when I installed my 496 in my 69 chevlle. measure your frame mount (width & center of the thru bolt-to the top of the frame mount). Moroso make several different types.
I used part # 62530 which is 2 5/8" wide and center of thru bolt is 1 3/4".
They also have for the chevelles one that is 2 3/8" wide and 2 1/8" tall for the center bolt , part #62510. The last one measures 2 3/8" wide and 2 9/32" tall at the thru bolt.
I have a Moroso pan on mine and Hooker super comp headers. No problems w/ clearance, just make sure headers are in before the motor & use a mini starter.
