Im getting ready to order most of my parts i need from Summit but just wasnt sure still of what cam to buy. Its still up in the air with the xe268 or the xe274. Heres my combo again and a few questions.
350 bored .020 .010 decked
9.73.1 speedpro pistons
edelbrock performer rpm heads(64cc)
perfromer rpm manifold
holley 650 DP
th 350 with at least 2400 stall

Im wanting this engine to have tons of low-mid torque but sound good with nice lope.

If i went with a xe 268 cam and put 1.6 rockers on it, would it make it like a 270? Will enough stall and a good converter make the 274 torquey on the low(60ft)
I really didnt get alot of useful info from edelbrock so i have to ask u guys.

1.6 rockers on the 268 will make the lift .509/.512...just a tad bigger than the 274 with 1.5s

I think with your setup, id go with the 274. What is your rear gear BTW?

I'm runing the xe268 with crane gold 1.6. I never ran the cam with my 1.5 rockers just cuz I switched both parts at the same time.
How much diferance would it make, 1.5 and 1.6 ?
I chose the 1.6 just cuz its bigger whithought thinking. (sorry to heist yer topic)

I'd go with the Xe268 has a great sounding idle and performance to back it. :D
Later on if you want more cam just buy some nice roller rockers with a 1.6 ratio.

My rear will be a 3:73 posi with 2.55 tires or even a 4:11 with 2.75 tires. The car will be just a fun street toy. I have my convertible to cruise in.
