: Flowmasters vs Dynomax Bullets
-SS454- Dec 14th, 04, 7:51 PM Have any of you gone from a Flowmaster muffler, specifically a 2 chamber, to a Dynomax Bullet muffler. I know both are loud, but I wonder if the Bullets would actually be louder, and if so how much louder? The Ultra-flows are quite a lot quieter than the Flowmasters, I think 70_Chevelle went from 94 db to 87 db, so that might be too quiet. Any help would be great, thanks.
blaauboer Dec 14th, 04, 8:46 PM The bullets are so loud that on Wed nights (muffler night)they stopped me on the return road and said you cant run anymore....it's muffler night and you have no mufflers on your car.....I said take a look... there are two bullets under there.....No tail pipes but they did run to the rear axle......They will not work on the street.....atleast for me they didn't.....
Matt Leuck Dec 14th, 04, 11:46 PM No comparison. Bullets are much louder.

Twilightoptics Dec 15th, 04, 1:07 AM I just posted a question on this too! I'll have plenty of tailpipe length to run after the mufflers, but am looking for something that will be muffling, but not quieter than the crossflow single flowmaster I have now. AND flows good too. I don't want any restrictions. What are the alternatives? Besides glasspacks?!
KS64SS Dec 15th, 04, 7:59 AM The bullets are LOUD! Even with tail pipes my friends 67 Chevelle w/BBC in it sounds like its running open headers, not very good for a street car.
JUNK YARD DOG Dec 15th, 04, 9:00 AM i run the bullets and can not tell any difference in the car than when i was just running pipes out from the headers .my buddy runs the same set up as i do and he has 1 chamber flowmasters and his sounds quiter than mine
-SS454- Dec 15th, 04, 1:14 PM Thanks for the imput. A friend ran a bullet on a 4 cylinder, and it really wasnt too loud. But no comparison on a built up V8.
66BBCONV Dec 15th, 04, 3:43 PM SS454,
I run 3" Ultra Flo's with 2.5 tails and can't beleive you would want something louder.
The guys I cruise with, complain they can't hear the stereo's in their own cars unless they are way ahead of me.

Twilightoptics Dec 15th, 04, 4:05 PM How are the ultra flows on, well, flow?
-SS454- Dec 15th, 04, 7:55 PM Ultra Flows flow extremely well.
69shovel&90454SS Dec 15th, 04, 8:36 PM I went from 2 chamber Flowmaster to Dynomax Ultraflow welded 3" and the change was worth its weight in gold in terms of sound quality, with the Flowmasters being raspy and annoying at full throttle, and the Ultraflows just as loud but with a deep bass sound. The Bullets I've heard were on race only cars, and they are loud.
