Team I am replacing my open 8.2 ten bolt out of my 71 with a 12 bolt. I am selling it to a guy for 75 bucks locally. I want to make sure it really is out of a 71 before I sell it to him (to make sure I'm being honest).

Casting Number 3917123NF is from a '68.
What's stamped on the front of the passenger side axle tube ?

1968-72 are the same width......everything's the same except brake drums and the numbers. I think 71's should have finned drums.

Thats really interesting to hear that the axle is out of a 68. Well I know offically know nothing was orginal from this car when I bought it. I feel less guilty switching to a 12 bolt now.
