It will probably be going into a 4200 lb wagon. (I already have a milder 350 for it but I've been wanting to build a stroker out of a 4-bolt 350 that has been collecting dust in the garage for awhile now so, here goes):

Heres what I've got so far:
.040 over 4-bolt 350
Stock 5.7 rods
Scat cast stroker crank
SpeedPro Hyper. pistons (coated skirts)
Vortec heads w/LT-4 springs and titanium retainers
Vic Jr. Intake (planned but don't have yet)
Edelbrock 1406 carb (Probably too small. I have several good q-jets that may work better but not with the Vic Jr. that I have planned)
Tweaked GM HEI
1-5/8" headers with 2.5" pipe and Ultra-flows
700R4 from '90 Iroc w/ 2400-2600 stall
3.73 posi 12 bolt

I was thinkin about runnin something similar to a Comp Cams 274XE but am totally open to suggestions. I would really like to try one of the Voodoo cams.

I already have all of the items listed above except for the crank, pistons, intake and exhaust components.

I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'm hoping for at least 430 or so HP at the flywheel.

Thanks

Id shoot for about 10:1 compression at best(Actually, about 9.7-9.8:1 might be best to assure safety at all times with pump gas in the heavy car). use the vortecs but Id have a little mild port work done to them. Dont get crazy with it, but make sure the heads do have a good job done to them. Next would be the intake. ID scrap the idea of the single plane and go with a performer rpm with a 750 carb on top and probably a voodoo 276 cam(similar to XE 274 which would be a good cam for this motor, but it sounds as if it will be stronger). Or another option is a solid cam. Id consider the comp XS 274 in a solid. Your gears and converter are pretty good for any of those camshafts. Especially in a heavy car with a torquey stroker, I bet the 2600 converter will stall every bit of 2600rpm or more under full throttle. That'll do.

Thanks Greg!

After doing some research, I think I'm going to try the VooDoo 268---part #60103
268/276 at .006
227/233 at .050
.489/.504 valve lift
110 LSA

What do ya'll think?

I ordered the LUN-60101LK Voodoo cam (256/262,.454/.468) for my Vortec headed mild small block project destined for the '67.
My combo is less gear (3.08), CR should fall around 9.6, with a TH350 and small stall, Performer intake with Quad carb, 1 5/8" headers.
FYI...plan on ordering the cam well in advance. Mine was ordered 2/1 and won't be shipped until 2/24 (Summit).
Also, I didn't know Edelbrock made a Victor Jr for Vortec heads...I thought their single plane offering was a Super Victor #2913.
IMO...since you haven't made a purchase yet, go with a Vortec RPM.

I think maybe I'll go with an Edelbrock Performer and use one of the Q-Jets I have. I was afraid the Edelbrock 1406 was going to be too small anyways.

And thanks for the heads up on the cam lead time.

You could run the Perf. RPM & use an adapter for a Qjet, I'm using an adapter with no problems. I don't think they give away that much, might even gain.
