I can't tell you what to buy, but I can tell you what not to! My experience with hookers has been terrible, mostly a hanging low problem. It isn't as bad as before, but thats after brakes suspension, tires, and wheels. With the 2 inch drop spindles I still have more clearance than before.
Best o'luck!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I believe there is a set of Hooker Super Comp's for a 72 in the Member Classifieds of this site. Just search for "Headers" in the Parts section. I think it's result #6. Good deal, If i had another Chevelle that didnt already have headers, i'd be there!

I had good luck with the Dynomax coated headers from Summit on our 72 350 with air. The coating is a little sparse around the collector but they go in easy, 6 of 8 plugs are easy to get to (angle vortech heads) and the other two are managable. They still look new 1.5 years later. Just be careful not to scratch the coating on the A-arm bolts on installation! Dooh!

I've used both Dynomax(I think they were called blackjack back in the day) and Thorleys on 71/72 chevelles. If you want ease of installation, I would use the Dynomax's, because the Thorley's will make you have to lift the engine.
