i have this block in my 67 chevelle. i understand and i have done very minimal research on where this car would have original came in. i believe it just says full size chevy maybe an impala. i was thinking of reuniting this block with is original owner. you can still see the broch markings on the stamp pad. it appears that there might have been a vin stamping on the pad as well. im pretty sure that the vin woud have been stamped on the pad. can anyone confirm this? is there anywhere else the vin would have been stamped on the block i will only offer this to the original car if i can confirm that it is yours. after that, i will put it on ebay someday. this will not be done anytime soon. can someone give me a list of cars that this came in. that way, i can go on the appropriate forum and post this there.

If it's a small block:
IN = '69 ,350 ,Impala ,250 ,L-65 ,TH 350 ,2-Brl ,Hyd Cam, Police

If it's a big block:
IN = '66 ,396 ,Impala ,325 ,L-35 ,TH-400 ,4-Brl ,A.I.R.
IN = '67 ,396 ,Impala ,325 ,L-35 ,TH-400 ,4-Brl ,A.I.R.
IN = '68 ,396 ,Impala ,325 ,L-35 ,Power Glide ,4-Brl ,Police

Got a casting number/date casting ?

If the partial VIN isn't on the same pad as the engine code ,look above the oil filter for '69+.

I run the 64-70 impala registry. If you post the vin# stamped on the block, I can tell you if I have seen the car before (it would stillbe out there if I have seen it). What is the casting date on the side of the block?
