hey, I have been trying to figure out the wiring for the stock 69 delco deck in my 69 ss chevelle. My dad had an aftermarket casette player installed back in the day and now its not there so there is just a nest of wires and i wanted to get rid of them and return the stock am/fm stereo radio back to original.
The problem I am having is the original wires to all of the speakers have been replaced with new speaker wire which is not the right colours so I dont know where they hook into. The left side of the radio has a grd, +, spkr, and another ground and then on the other side of the deck is where im lost. There is a clip with six onnections on it and it has 2 brown, 2 black, a purple, and a blue wire. None of these wires seem to match the colour code i have seen in my reference manuals. Where do I attach each speaker to?

Is that an AC/Delco AM/FM stereo deck?

If you find the part # on it, go to your local library and look up "sams photo facts" They have repair manuals on most electronic pieces.

If it's truly a stereo deck it's obvious your speaker connections will be on the 6 connector.

The other connector GRD is ground and goes to a metal piece. The + goes to a wire on your fuse box for the radio. I suspect the SPKR connector would be for a single speaker mono, but I could be wrong here so you need the wiring diagram of the unit to be sure, unless one of these guys have an exact unit and can tell you how theirs is connected.
