I have a new Forward Harness for a '70 that was modded for the CS-144 alternator thereby negating the external voltage regulator and remote sensing. The set-up is still basically similar to the Mad Electrical diagram (thank you Mad):

Alternator sends power directly to horn bus/splice back to distribution block, back to charge battery. My "addition" to this is a 1-foot 2-gauge cable directly from the alternator to the battery because stereo amplifier is fed directly from the battery (as is typical).

Is there any problem with redundant power & charging leads with what I want to do? (Yes, I've read Mad's info over and over and know about the old design's trickle-charge via the smaller gauge charge wire.)

Theoretically, would the OEM lead from the alternator to the horn bus be redundant given the differences in available voltages (alt vs. battery)? I believe "remote voltage sensing" does not apply here for two reasons: 1.) The CS-144 does not need RVS to operate unless you want to hook-up that wire on the MetriPack plug (most people just loop it to the alt stud anyway), and 2.) the new cable to the battery is close enough that it is not "remote" and considered good-enough to call it no voltage drop.

I see one problem with that additional 2g cable from the alternator to the battery. That extra cable would connect the battery to the horn relay, via the alternator output wire, bypassing the fusible link. Without the fusible link, a short in the cabling up to the fuse block would start a fire.

It would be okay to connect the alternator to the junction block by the battery.

I forgot to mention I have a cool 175A Bussmann fuse where the alternator cable connects to the battery to cover that issue. Anything else? I thought there would be more interest in this topic.
