Hi,

I have been thinking about putting my 68 Chevelle convertible up for sale, but I really don't know what to ask for it. The prices seem to be all over the place for the few 68 Chevelle Convertibles that I see for sale. Here are some details on the car:

- Fathom Blue with Medium Blue interior (front bench seat) and a white power top
- Original numbers matching 327 275 HP dual exhaust model (only modifications are a comp cam and edelbrock intake - still have original cam and lifters that are in good shape)
- Originally a 3 speed stick on the column - now has a 4 speed hurst shifter on the floor with a Muncie M-21 tranny (correct floor hump was welded in so correct shifter boot could be installed)
- Car has about 118K on it (speedo stopped working last summer - drove it maybe 100 miles since then)
- I am the 4th owner - bought it from the third owner with about 116K on it back in 1996. He bought it from the second owner in 1985 with almost 90K on it. Other than this info, I don't know much else about the history of the car.
- I spent about 4 years restoring the car when I got it back in 96 and have kept everything pretty clean since then. I would say the exterior is still a 9 out of 10 and the interior is probably an 8.5 out of 10 (had a squirrel get into it a few years back and dirtied up the inside of the convertible top and the carpet - full details of what that little sucker did is a long story - needless to say, the car no longer has back seatbelts ).
- This car is a really nice driver that you could definitely be proud to take to any show. I get compliments and looks everytime I take it out (which, sadly isn't very much anymore).

I am planning on taking pictures of it this weekend and will post a link to them here before I place the car up for sale and finalize my asking price. Any help on setting my price would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Jon

Being the peak of summer it should be an easier sale for a rag top than if you wait until fall/winter. I am no expert but from what I see nice drivers are taking a bit of time to sell so I wouild expect pricing to be down a bit. Ebay usually has a 68 rag top for sale. Not being an SS and the blue interior might keep the price down a little. Car market seems to be soft from my perception. If it as nice as you say I would figure between $14-18k might be a reasonable sale price. Any higher and I think it will take time to sell. Good Luck.
