got some new electric "Cobalt" autometers and there are different settings for ppm. they have it set by default at 4 ppm, this is supposed to be for V8's.

1. what is ppm?
2. what ppm should a 454 be set at, the range seems to be 4-6

ok thanks.

the autometer instructions start v8's at 4 and go up to 6. what type of v8 would run a 5 or 6?

Coil on plug or coil pack......... LS series or Northstar for instance. THIS is an answer to your question above.

I really liked the OLD Volvo Pedisel Mounted Tachs. They had terminals to wire 4,6 and 8 Cylinder Pulses.
