Just an FYI for any locals, a few guys out of Rochester have booked the track for this Saturday, 9-5. So far there's only four of them, plus 509 Camaro and me.

They have to know by tomorrow whether they'll go ahead. Be nice to get 15 cars to get the $500 fee down to $33 a car! We dont do it at $85 a head!

Hear its a nice 1/4 track. Tell your friends!Otherwise 509 and I will try Friday night t-n-ts there.

Take the extra money you saved and buy slicks.

So you can find out that the correlation between MPH/ET is not how you predicted.

Hey Bri', wasn't looking for any advice. Particularly uniformed and unsolicited.

Hey gene, i think you'll find my advice to be accurate.
Being the smart racer that you are, you should know that spinning the tires in the 60 is going to pick up MPH becuase you're car is "winding" up, as apposed to hooking.

OO man, I wish I wasn't at college right now, but then again I would look really funny being the only 14 sec. car there with a bunch of 11-10 sec ones! I didn't know many people were from Rochester round here.

The track is pretty nice, I've heard it has one of the longest shutdown areas in the country, like not even the NHRA big dog guys have to throw their chutes out...I trap at 96mph and I can throw it into nuetral and coast and be slow enough for the turn off in time. The only thing that sucks is that where the street cars stay it is 'paved' with pebbles and stones that people bring up to the starting line, but you won't have that problem with only 15 cars you can stay in the paved area.

Just curious how long do you get it for for 500 bucks? I might do this next year with some friends....also what do they provide if anything for that fee?

Brian, what spinning? What are you talking about?

All GO, glad to hear about the track. I'm running manual drums so having a bit of room at the top end of the track is nice!
I don't know the specifics other than its a fixed cost of $500, from 9am to 5 pm, 15 car max ( +/- a few).

If they can't pull together 15 cars by tomorrow , they'll nix it. I'd like to go up there on Friday night anyhow. Weather looks more promising.

Too bad I have to work on Saturday. I would have loved to get out there with you Gene. That is a good idea for the spring. I am hoping to get on a dyno before I put it away for the winter. I think that I will have quite the traction problem though, maby some new comp ta's for christmass
will help.

Man...last time I was at this track was the freakin' Summer of 1972!
Running 11.88s in a '68 Shelby GT500KR ,427 side oiler with 2x4s and 4 speed!
Trailered it there with a VW bus camper.
Flower powered... ;)
Is it still IHRA? :D
Empire Dragway, I think that's what they called it back then.
I'm gettin' old...

Tom, that's a shame. Looks like it might be Friday night t-n-t anyway. Figure, I'll have to leave Hamburg by 4:30 or so to get there, if you can make it.

If you've ever gone to a track and waited 2 to 4 hours to make one pass, $85 a person for a test session is a steal IMO...unlimited runs and NO WAITING. For someone trying to dial in a car, that time/$$$ is invaluable.

Totally hear that Todd. Plus, I'm sure I could just time 60'fts for a few minutes. Which is what needs done. Technique.
