Ok guys , try to follow me here. I had a turbo th400 that I cracked up really good when I lost a driveshaft. So I need a new transmission. I can get a working 4L80e for $250. I'd like to get a full manual vave body for $232 and reuse my 34 element sprag from my TH400. Can I use my non-lock-up convertor from my TH400 on the 4180 manual shift tranny?

4L80 converter is different, not cheap but worth the conversion.

Depending on year, the 4L80 may already have the 34 element sprag.

The full manual VB setups work great. Remember you will also have to figure out the speedo.

The older TCI controllers are down to about $500 and they work fine, it may be worth it to use the electronic controller for a few hundred $ more.
