I'm replacing the underdash wire harness on a club memebers 72 Chevelle. What is the easiest way to get this done, I have heard yank the dash and seats and start running wires, or just crawl underdash and start 1 wire at a time.
New harness is from American Auto Wire and looks great as did the other 2 wire harnesses I got from them. A new engine harness and new taillight harness.
This car has so many electrical gremlins and the original harness is so hacked up with cut wires just hanging. A new harness is the only way to go to reduce a few random sparks that I had appear while under dash.
Thanks,

I would cut some 1/4 - 20 threaded rod about 10" long and intall it where the horizontal dash bolts go. Then you can slide the dash out about 6" and have at it.

MAKE SURE you disconnect the battery and leave it that way till you are done.
