Need a air filter housing for a '69 396 325 hp manual. I have found one but they want almost 300.00 for it and the lid needs rechroming. I know they are not repro these things, but not knowing what it will cost to rechrome the lid I'm not sure if it is worth it. What do you think?

it took me 2 years to find one for my son's car.bought one ebay and was a piece of junk,needed too much work and lid needed chroming.find one at a swap meet one day for 25.00.and had a nice lid.ain't seen one since.if you could talk that guy dowm to 225-250 and get the lid chromed for 100-125,you won't be in too bad of shape. greg

I'll bet they want 250/300 to chrome just the lid these days. Look in the resto forum, someone is having the same problem chroming a lid. They are expensive to do.

I have a minty one I guess I better sell it.
