Hey, I'm new to Chevelles. I currently have a 1979 Z28 Camaro, but I've always liked Chevelles better. I'm looking around for a 1970 Chevelle rolling chassis that is in fair shape structure-wise to restore to an SS clone (only as far as body goes... I already have a motor I want to put in it). Are there any areas of concern on a 70 Chevelle body or frame that tend to be deal-breakers? Keep in mind, I'm looking for cheap pricewise, but strong in structural integrity.

Thanks in advance for any help.

there aren't just a couple places to look, you kind of have to look everywhere for rust. two areas most people don't look that are common to rust is the are at the base of the windshield and the lower cowl area just in front of the door behind the lower fender. these areas are very hard to see on an assembled car though. also check the frame over carefully especially in the rear tire area back to the bumper and where the steering box are located. then of course floors and trunk, floor bracing, lower door area, and so on.
i would insist on a full underside inspection either on a lift or jackstands.
