Found a 12 posi with code "kf" which is 3:55 gear ratio. 1 of the spring perchs where the shock mounts has been fixed. About a 2-3 inch piece. Is it worth $1500? Can you buy those perches?

Sounds a little steep for a rear with a damaged housing. I'd keep looking.:yes:

It's not the actual housing , it's the perch or bracket on the bottom that the shock attaches to. The original picece broke off and a new piece was welded on. Maybe it's no big deal, I don't know.

I also have a KF coded 12 bolt with a B87 casting date. I want to put it under my 67. Problem is somebody cut the spring perches off and welded leaf spring brackets on and put it under a Camaro. I was going to look for a old housing to cut the mounts off and weld them back on. A lot bigger project than you are looking at.To answer your question I do not believe it will hurt a thing as long as a good welder made the repair. Rodney

Sorry thought you allready owned it. That sounds like plenty unless you need the numbers. I am not sure how rare it is. I know that my 70 L78 came with 355 gears but not sure how many 67s came with them. Rodney

My brother looked forever for a 67 12 bolt posi rear. When he finally found one from ebay, $1200.00, he bought it. Problem was when he got it, it was for a 70! He called the guy back pissed as hell, the guy could care less that he ripped him off. Anyway, if its a 67 rear, it might be worth that kinda money. I think 67 is a one year only rear. Us 68-72 guys got it easy!

Has it just been rebuilt? Are they guaranting it? Do you need the numbers? If it is fresh and you want the numbers it is just a litte high. If it needs rebuilt and you do not need the numbers then it is high. Only you can decide if it is worth it to you or not. Rodney
