Does anyone know of a good shop near Dallas, TX that can rebuild and swap gears in my 12 bolt rear? I would also like them to balance the driveshaft.

I am thinking about doing the rebuild myself, but if there is a reputable shop nearby, I will probably have them do it. I bought the gears and parts from BGH last fall, but I don't have the tools to do the job. Going from approx. 5.57 (series 3 posi with spacer) to 3.08. I live in Frisco, TX, a suburb just north of Dallas. Thanks, Wayne

I know its not a shop for muscle cars, but I know they do good rear end work. Have you heard of Red River Auto? They used to be in Mckinney off of Erwin and Hwy 5. Now they are out on the way to Princeton on Hwy 380. They deal with alot of 4x4's and offroad vehicles. That's the only place I know of that does pretty good rear end work.

I don't know of any local shops who have a GOOD reputation for doing it.

Usually the 4x4 shops do it more than any other due to the big tire swaps.
I've been out of th eloop for most of the last year.
I do my own and have the tools, but don't like doing them if I can avoid it...

I know some local guys who could probably tell you where not to go, but I can't remember who they had issues with.

I would say I could do it for you but management at my shop flips out if a car is in there they wont make any money off of it. Even my own damn chevelle!!! They make me get a repair order if I want to work on my four wheelers. JERKS!!!

E.T. Automotive in Garland does a good job, I'll try to find their card this evening when I get home for you.
