Im going to wait until the Aug 22 TNT to bring out the chevelle. That should be plenty of time to work out any bugs that appear between now and then.

Brian, Mike, are both of you still planning on being at Bremerton on the 8th. If so I will try to get up their by 18:30 and drop off John's converter. hopefully I will get a chance to see Tweety make a solid 10 second wheels up pass :yes:.

Not able to make it for the 8th but I'm going to be there on the 22nd with slicks. I just need some track time to get consistent and i'm hoping for some 13.2's at over 100mph. a friend of mine said to put my tailgate down and I'll break 100.

Yeah I believe Mike is still going, I know I am. Actually I am going down to portland Friday night, if you want me to swing into olympia to pick up the converter I could do that. Unless you wana come up to Bremerton. I wont be down in olympia probably until 10:30-11.

George?
If you get that motor into the Elky before you leave for Mexico...
Doc could drive it for you on the 22nd and help get it dialed in.:thumbsup:

BTW, what head gaskets are you going to run?l:)

Which head gasket? Probably the used set from Craigslist with the cracks held together with J-B Weld. Right here in Lakewood, perfect for El Caminos. I hear they are good for Super Budget 454s:thumbsup:
That ad cracked me tfu!:yes::thumbsup:
Hmmmm, wonder who the Mystery Seller was...had my Idea that it could be someone with a Buick Special....pretty sure now my hunch is correct.
Very good imagination on that one.....must have been some :beers: involved when you wrote that piece!

The reality is I'll stick with the Fel-Pro Blue.....

Re Doc driving the Elky on the 22nd...:noway:

I did just return from getting the hoist AND a 1000#-rated engine stand.
He says a set of BBC heads, unk casting # next week.

:noway::noway::noway:
Wasn't me George. It was funny enough that I could have written it. :D It was actually funny enough I'm slightly jealous of the mystery writer.

My comment was strictly related to Doc poppin' a couple gaskets last couple of times out. At least they are cheaper and easier to fix than dime sized holes in the top of a piston.:D

It's nothing if not exciting.:yes:

BTW, I think the Felpro blues will be fine.

OK, the other version re Doc poppin' head gaskets is pretty funny too....

So I pick up a .1 or .2 CR....but have to re-torque if using a shim gasket.
If heads and block were fresh-deck, one thing....

That darn Bergman is lethal, and my head gaskets are runnin' scared!
