Hey Rick,
There is a Dearborn cruise on Michigan Ave. Friday night (Aug.1) that runs from the Dearborn courthouse to Ford Field which is a park in Dearborn. There is also a really big cruise night every Friday at the Sears shopping center at Dix & Southfield. There are usually about 200 cars there. On Saturday there is a cruise night at the Burger King at Dix & Eureka which usually has a pretty small turnout. On Sunday afternoon at 3:00 there is a gathering at Malarkey's which is also at Dix & Eureka on another corner.
Hope this helps and you have a good time while you're here!

Rick, you definitely want to check out Woodward Ave. at 13-1/2 mile road on friday or saturday. Its where the worlds biggest cruise is on August 16th but people cruise there all summer long and is definitely fun anytime in August. As a matter of fact, I just got back from out there tonight.

Mike. I grew up in the Detroit area. I know about Woodward. I've been to the Woodward cruise many times. But with such a short time on this trip. Not sure if I can make it out there. But thanks for the info. Bad timing on this trip. Other wise I would be sitting out there watching. Rick

Rick, If you get some free time, go see the Henry Ford Museum (way cool) and Greenfield Village in Dearborn. I grew up until the age of 9 in Detroit, I loved going to Ford Museum and the Village.
