I wish the internet was around when I built my 73 F-250. I just had to get lucky at the junkyards. I miss that truck. Does your 72 have a BB?

Watch the cab mounts on that sucker! I like those F100s but '72 was a nasty year for body rust. What is it, a Custom, Sport Custom, Ranger or Ranger XLT (or an Explorer special)?

Call AIM Industries (http://www.truckn-store.com/) at 1-800-842-8789 for suspension bits, like quality I-beams. Dreambeams at 1-800-237-6748 will get you a catalogue that covers the same. DJM Suspension (http://www.djmsuspension.com) produces dropped beams for lowering, and can be reached at 1-310-325-7729. Don't trifle with cheap I-beams or you will have constant alignment problems.

Obsolete Ford Parts (http://www.obsoletefordparts.com/) , Inc. covers pickup restoration parts from 1948-72. They are in Oklahoma. 1-800-654-3247 should get them on the horn.

Sorry, but I started answering this post last night before I saw what engine was in it. Don't confuse the 351 with the 352 as they are a completely different family of engines to the point of being a 60 degree V vs. a 90 degree V.

The 240/300 six is a good one. The 302 was only offered in 2wd F100s. The 360/390 were in the same family, namely the FE series which started with the 332 & 352 around 1958. The 360 is just a bored 352. Stuff for 390s, 406s, 427s & 428s will fit and will wake it up. Out back you will have the infamous 9" rear.
What's this, you're not getting flamed for asking about a Ford on a Chevelle site? What can I say, Chevelle people are good people!

Explorer special {i dont know whats so special about it though} i think its just a chrome package. No its a 351, not the original motor i assume. Im not sure what 3 speed auto is in it, any idea how to find that out? The truck isnt too rusy, just a bit of bubbleing in the fender bottoms, not much at all around the wheel wells. I suppose if the cab mounts are rusted ill have to do some surgery with some plate steel and a welder eh? This isnt going to be a hot rod at all. Its my winter/daily driver, thanks for the sights guys, any others???
