The cowl tag has me scratching my head....it looks welded???
Ballpark values on worth?
Thanks!
Dave Birdwell Jul 19th, 08, 5:24 PM Cowl tag is good to go. That is the sealer that they put in the center of the rivets that you see. Car has alot incorrect under the hood, mostly minor things, but looks like a decent car otherwise. Pictures can be very deceiving, though. If it is as nice as it looks, in todays market, I think about $28000. Don't see any mention of numbers or documentations. The market is in a state of flux right now.
Burnsamatic Jul 19th, 08, 7:47 PM That's a beautiful Chevelle. It doesn't sound like a stock cam though.
704EVER Jul 19th, 08, 7:49 PM I'll bet they're asking closer to 50K for that car. It looks like they spent some time and money on it.
Bunz-T Jul 19th, 08, 8:15 PM Have you called them and ask a price to buy? No need spending a lot of time wondering if they are asking for money way beyond your budget. What we think is means nothing in getting it released from the owner.. As I have stressed it is easier for us to to tell you what it is not worth. TO us.

In the auction (under "Features/Options") it states: "original rebuilt with all correct stampings present"
At the end, among some other pictures, there is a picture of the block stamp, and FWIW it matches the VIN listed in the auction. To me it doesn't look like an obvious restamp, but I'm no expert, so I'd be interested in hearing what others think of that block stamp.

704EVER Jul 19th, 08, 9:40 PM It's hard to tell from that picture with the pad being painted and I'm not really up on what 70 Kansas stamps should look like. I remember something being different about them though, like same size fonts as the TO stamp and sometimes upside down but I'm not sure what year that pertains to. It looks like a nicely done car though and I'm sure they're asking all the money for it.
pizzi-man Jul 19th, 08, 10:00 PM looks as if they missed with the transmission oil lines:sad:
BobFmTyler Jul 19th, 08, 10:26 PM That's only about 30 miles from me. I beg someone to ask me to go look at it for them..........

Go get'um Bob, just make up an excuse to head out that way and give us the lowdown on it.:beers:
SoCal Bryan Jul 20th, 08, 5:26 PM I don't even like green, no less triple green, but I'd take this one any day. I bet this dude wants a small fortune for it.
Dave Birdwell Jul 20th, 08, 11:18 PM I missed the block pic the first time. Definately not a known Kansas VIN stamp....buyer beware...
