I've been looking for a 67 emerald turqoise to buy for 4 years with no luck well i was searching craigslist last night and came across this car it is what im looking for but seems a little on the high side for a project car what do you guys think about it price.http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/740304384.html

im new to chevelles how can you tell the cowl tag is messed with.

I really dont think the trim tag looks like its been messed with. It may have been dinged or smashed during a motor swap on the right side. The patina on the body and the hood matching makes me think its a real 138 "SS" car. I think that surface rust on all the body panels would be hard to fake. There are no visable signs thats its not a ss, mind you the pics are grainy and bad

See if you can get a picture of the VIN#.......

The vin is on the car and is a true 138 i think the cowl tag is oringinal to the car by looking at pictures.

i have more pictures of car that was email to me of the vin and cowl tag it is a 138 car they do not look like they have been tampered with.

For what it's worth, I don't think the cowl tag looks tampered with and the price seems fair for a 138 project (their always too high). But having grown up in Michigan I would say you could find a much more worthy project down south somewhere.
